Abstract:

This study examines how criminal justice systems protect IPR, combat piracy, and promote macroeconomic stability. It focuses specifically on the environment of China, where piracy and IPR infringement pose substantial issues. The study seeks to fill gaps in the existing literature by offering a detailed examination of the practical contributions, obstacles, and opportunities for international cooperation within the Chinese criminal justice system. The study takes a qualitative approach, with 13 semi-structured interviews with important stakeholders involved in intellectual property protection and piracy prevention. A three-step coding technique is used to assess the acquired data: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. MAXQDA-2020 software is used to manage and analyze data. According to the results, robust intellectual property protection is crucial for fostering innovation and economic growth. The importance of robust legislative frameworks, enforcement mechanisms, and stakeholder involvement is emphasized in the study. In addition, the strategy highlights the link between intellectual property protection, pirate prevention, and socioeconomic stability. Policymakers must emphasize the development of comprehensive legal frameworks and specialized units within criminal justice systems, among other practical ramifications. Collaboration and international collaboration are critical in dealing with the transnational aspect of piracy. Industry stakeholders should take an active role in establishing a culture of intellectual property respect and assisting law enforcement agencies. Theoretical implications emphasize the multifaceted nature of IPR protection and piracy, underlining the significance of integrating criminal justice systems into the larger framework of innovation and socioeconomic growth.
